Vascudyne Presents Breakthrough Tissue-Engineered Transcatheter Heart Valve Data at TCT Boston

Vascudyne announced the presentation of promising long-term performance data for its completely biological engineered tissue valve for transcatheter heart valve applications at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference in Boston. The presentation, titled “A Completely Biological Engineered Tissue Valve for Transcatheter Heart Valve Applications (Vascudyne),” showcased results from a rigorous juvenile sheep model study.

The research, funded by a Regenerative Medicine Minnesota award to Vascudyne with Dr. Zeeshan Syedain serving as Principal Investigator, demonstrates the long-term durability of Vascudyne’s tissue-engineered transcatheter valve in one of the most challenging testing environments. The juvenile sheep model is recognized as a highly calcific valve model, providing critical insights into valve performance under conditions that closely mimic accelerated aging and calcification processes.

The study findings support Vascudyne’s vision of creating biocompatible, durable heart valve solutions that could offer patients improved long-term outcomes compared to existing transcatheter valve technologies.
